This is an 11 page pdf with instructions to make this warm and colorful Ruana in mixed weight yarns. A Ruana is a cross between a shawl and poncho. It can be worn as a long cloak or with the front panels over your shoulders like a scarf. Warm and colorful this pattern is easy enough for a beginner to create. There are many photos throughout the pattern to explain finishing techniques so that the beginner and experienced alike will be able to complete this project with ease.

While I mixed chunky and worsted weight yarns - all worsted weight yarn could be substituted.

Yarn:
Small Size:

6 skeins I Love this Yarn
4 skeins Yarn Bee’s Chunky

Large size

7 skeins I Love this Yarn
5 skeins Yarn Bee’s Chunky First Love

Worsted weight. I used Hobby Lobby brand:
“I Love this Yarn” (7 oz, 355 yrds)

Chunky Yarn Bee’s “First Love” (5 oz, 143 yrds)

Dimensions:
Small: 40” wide by 40 “ long (minus fringe)
Large: 48” wide by 40 “ long (minus fringe)

Finished Fringe: 7-8 inches

Size adjustments: The small size should fit most people from an average women’s to 1x plus. Length is easy to adjust for all sizes. The Ruana in the photos is the small size.

All patterns are written using US crochet standard terms.
