To celebrate the launch of my mystery gift-knitting collection, Knitvent 2024, you can get the new Simply Stripy Cowl for free with the code SIMPLYSTRIPY24 until November 8th, 2024!

Designed to use up very small yarn scraps in a fresh new way, this joyful little cowl pattern is so simple, fun and quick to knit. It’s an amazing pattern for new knitters (SO MUCH FASTER than a scarf!) and a blissfully mindless, modern comfort-knit for anyone who wants a bit of instant knitting gratification. I designed the Simply Curious Stripy Cowl for 24 colours of fingering weight yarn, in case you want to use up the last tiny bits of an advent calendar set, but you’re also welcome to just go wild!

This is an endlessly adaptable pattern. You can make it any size you like and even use different yarn weights. The easy slipped stitch technique is a delightful way to play with colour combinations. Experiment with whatever yarn calls to you: use any size of scraps from your stash or pull a palette you love from your local yarn store…each stripe only needs about 3g of yarn, so you won’t be setting yourself up for future yarn chicken if you break into a few new skeins. The Simply Curious Stripy Cowl makes an amazing last-minute gift for friends, teachers, or anyone you think deserves a colourful burst of joy at this time of year…which definitely includes yourself!
