“Red and yellow and pink and green
Purple and orange and blue.
You can sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow, sing a rainbow too.”

And this my friends is how an idea for a baby blanket is born. Especially when you need a blanket for a mom who is a music therapist!

I’m not even sure why I remembered this song from childhood. It’s certainly not a song I sang a lot to my own children when they were little. But it came to mind anyway and now it’s a pretty 36”x36” square that you can wrap around your little bundle of joy.

This is a beginner friendly pattern, just knit and purl stitches. Gauge isn’t critical since it’s a blanket. Just cast on and start knitting!

Be sure to share your finished blankets and any adaptations you made in the Heartland Knits Ravelry Group.
