Singing in the Rain
The shawl body is worked from one side to the other.
Approximately 20 to 25% of the yarn is used in the increase section, 50% in the centre section and the last 20-25% in the decrease section.
This is an ideal construction for that single skein of special yarn or handspun where you want to use it all without risking running short. Beads are optional.
The shawl can be made in any weight of yarn. Samples are shown in laceweight and in fingering weight yarn.
The shawl can be enlarged easily.
We have planted “Singing in the Rain” beside “Dancing in the Rain” in our garden. They make a lovely complementary pairing. The leaves are a lovely green/blue in the centre with a yellow-green margin on the outside edge. The bright yellow margins gradually turns to a creamy white as the season progresses. The very pale lavender flowers bloom in late June and into July. This patch has been growing steadily the past few years and seemed to thrive, in spite of the particularly harsh winters we had the last 2 years.
