Yes, it’s the long-awaited shawl version of Song of the Sea cowl.

This elegant shawl develops in beautiful Art Deco waves.

It’s a slight parallelogram (squashed rectangle), finishing in elegant points. You can block it with straight edges, or keep the gentle scallops along the biggest waves.

The size is flexible: from 1-skein scarf to generous shawl. 3 sizes are given in the pattern. There instructions so that you can easily adjust it to a custom size or for the amount of yarn that you have.

Worked lengthwise, in long, rhythmical rows, this is an intermediate lace project. It is a great project to try working lace on right- and wrong-side rows for the first time since the lace itself is easy. (If you’re looking for your first lace project, I suggest Song of the Sea instead.)

Scarf: 20cm/8” x 150cm/60” (160cm/64” incl points)
Stole: 33cm/13” x 160cm/64” (180cm/68” incl points)
Shawl: 40cm/16” x 170cm/68” (185cm/70” incl points)

Instructions are given for adjusting the pattern to make it as wide and long as you like (custom size).

Materials
It’s a versatile pattern which suits a wide range of yarns.
Recommend 4ply/fingering in these quantities:
Scarf: Minimum 400m/440yds
Stole: 600m/660yds
Shawl: 750m/820yds or more
All sizes:
4.0mm/US 6 circular needles with 100cm/40” cable.
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle to weave in ends.
Optional: 4.0mm/US G/6 Crochet hook for optional crochet cast-on.
