This hat was created as a gift for a friend who loved the colours in a hobo bag made by students out of fabric purchased at a market in Kumi, Uganda.

Sirrs is my friend’s last name and this pattern’s name to thank her for the inspiration.

YARN: I chose to use Drops Karisma because this yarn is not superwash, comes in lovely colors and it very budget-friendly.

MAIN COLOR: 50 grams
CONTRAST 1 (the darkest): 12 grams
CONTRAST 2 (the lightest): 20 grams
CONTRAST 3 (the pop): 8 grams

The hat is knit from the rib to crown. I used the Tubular Cast-On method (with detailed instructions and a link to my tutorial) because I love the polished look it gives the ribbing. But don’t despair! You can use a regular cast-on.

The colorwork is charted. BONUS: I included a blank chart that you can fill in with your own colors to make it easier and more fun.

This hat will fit a 20” to 23” head circumference.
