Sisters Washcloths
The paperback version of this pattern was originally published in bestselling international author Allie Pleiter’s Riverbank Knitting Mystery novel, “Knit or Dye Trying” in April 2022. Please do pick up Allie’s book; the series is centered around Libby Beckett, a yarn shop owner in Maryland who finds herself sleuthing to solve a murder of an out-of-town guest. During Libby’s most stressful time, she picks up an unfinished washcloth to work on. That passage in the book was my inspiration.
This is a two-washcloth set, great for a housewarming, Mother’s Day, or a “girlfriend gift.” It consists of two seed-stitch washcloths with a heart theme, and a knitted-on ruffle border in a complementary color.
Plus..the super-secret symmetrical version (the original has the hearts a tad off-center, in honor of the sisters’ relationship) is in here as well! It is…SURPRISE!…a three-washcloth set.
Also, no cabling, no bobbles, no slipped stitches, no lace, and nothing else that tends to make newer knitters apprehensive about starting something so textured. If you can knit, purl, and count, you can do it!
There is both a chart and written instructions. You can also reach out to me if you have a question.
Every dollar from sales of this and the symmetrical pattern will go to AHIHA: The Stan Mikita Hockey School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. If you prefer to donate directly to the charity through https://ahiha.org/donations/ , just email your donation receipt to amy.e.kaspar@gmail.com and I will reply with the pattern, without you purchasing it through here.
