This is a pattern to crochet a cushion cover using the popular mosaic overlay technique. The design features the friendly greeting of “Sit On It” … a very apt invitation to your guests!

It would make an ideal housewarming gift or make it for yourself to remind you to slow down, take a rest and enjoy your home.

You can download the pattern in PDF form immediately after payment. You will not receive a finished item, you make it yourself using my pattern.

After payment, you will have access to two downloadable PDF documents. One is written in US terminology and the other in UK. It is 19 pages long with helpful tips and colour photographs to assist. You do not need to be able to read charts to use this pattern, each row is fully written out in English. Charts fully marked up with Xs are provided for those who prefer them.

The pattern has a small number of slanted stitches. If you have only made mosaic overlay projects using straight stitches, you should not be put off buying this pattern. The slanted stitches are as easy to learn as the straight ones and a photo tutorial shows you exactly how to create them.

You will need four 100g balls of Scheepjes Color Crafter or Stylecraft Special Double Knitting yarn (two in each colour) but any comparable DK/light-worsted weight yarn could be substituted. Using DK/light-worsted and a 4mm hook, the cushion will measure approx 18 in/46 cm square meeasured flat. The cushion in the first two photographs has been filled with a 19 in/48 cm cushion insert to make it look nice and full.
