LO QUE NECESITAS SABER PARA TEJER ESTE JERSEY:
Para tejer este jersey es necesario saber tejer punto del derecho y del revés, montar puntos mediante el método de la hebra larga, cerrar puntos, realizar aumentos y reducciones, tejer en circular y conocer la técnica de los ochos o trenzas o cómo tejer con una aguja auxiliar (pero si no la dominas, es perfecto para iniciarse en ella).

CÓMO SE HACE:
Este es un jersey top down, es decir se empieza tejiendo por el escote, a continuación se teje el canesú en punto derecho y revés con los detalles que simulan el nido de abeja de los vestidos que nos hacían nuestras madres, este detalle se puede hacer directamente mientras se teje el jersey utilizando una aguja auxiliar (como la que se usa para hacer trenzas) y rodeando hilo en ella o bien a posteriori, con aguja lanera “bordando”. Después se teje el cuerpo en punto derecho, y finalmente se tejen las mangas también en punto derecho. Se realiza de una sola pieza, sin ninguna costura.

MUESTRA:
17 puntos y 23 vueltas para una muestra de 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4”) en punto jersey, sin bloquear.

HILO:
6 (6, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9) ovillos de Simbo de Lanas Alpaca (50% lana, 50% SF alpaca; 100 g / 133 m; 3.52 oz / 145 yd) para el color principal. Restos de otro color para el color de contraste.
Los colores empleados en las fotografías son 1607, gris claro y 1605, teja oscuro.

AGUJAS:
Agujas circulares de 5 mm (US 8) con cables de 40 cm (16”) para el escote y 80 cm (32”) para el cuerpo, o las necesarias para obtener la muestra de tensión (sin bloquear).

OTROS ACCESORIOS:
1 marcador para el inicio de vuelta, aguja lanera para rematar las hebras y aguja de trenzas.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW TO KNIT THIS SWEATER:
To knit this sweater you need to know how to knit, purl, perform a long tail cast-on, bind off stitches, make increases and decreases, work in the round, and be familiar with knitting cables or working with a cable needle (you do not need to be an expert in cable knitting, this is a perfect pattern to get started in it).

HOW IT IS DONE:
This sweater is knit top-down, i.e. it is started to knit at the neckline, then the yoke is worked in knit and purl stitches with a pattern that simulates the honeycomb or smocking the dresses our moms used to make us had; this detail can be worked directly while the sweater is being knit using a cable needle and wrapping the yarn around it or after the sweater has been knit, by “embroidering” around the ribbing the knit and purl stitches create. After the yoke, the body is knit in stockinette stitch and the sleeves are knit at the end in stockinette stitch, as well. It is worked seamlessly, all in one piece.

GAUGE:
17 stitches and 23 rows in 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4”) in stockinette stitch, without blocking.

YARN:
6 (6, 6, 7, 8, 8, 9) balls of Simbo by Lanasalpaca (50% Wool, 50% SF Alpaca; 100 g / 133 m; 3.52 oz / 145 yd) for the main colour and leftover yarn in the same weight in contrast colour. The colourways used in the pictures are 1607, light grey and 1605, dark brick red.

NEEDLES:
5 mm (US 8) circular needles, with a cable of 40 cm (16”) for the neckline and 80 cm (32”) for the body, or the required needle size to obtain gauge (without blocking).

OTHER NOTIONS:
1 stitch marker for the beginning of the round, tapestry needle to weave in ends and cable needle.
