The name Six Times Six seemed appropriate after looking at the charts. Lots of six little white boxes on the chart make the pattern come to life!

The pattern is for a lovely cushion with an optional zipper closure. Instructions include ways to use the pattern to make other projects like blankets, placemats or a table runner. You could even adapt it to make a scarf or cowl. Cushion fits a 36 x 36cm (14 x 14”) insert using the yarn and hook mentioned.

This pattern is suitable for mosaic beginners as long as you know crochet basics. The general notes explain how to do mosaic overlay crochet however, if you have not done it before, there are many YouTube videos available.

The pattern contains written instructions for a cushion, some pictures, as well as 2 charts (with Xs marked). One chart is for the cushion and the other is for flat items like a blanket etc. which includes a left-handed repeat. There is a link to my video on how to do the invisible join as the cushion is worked in the round. There are detailed instructions on how to add the zipper. It is much easier than you expect! Or it can be closed with a whip stitch instead. It is a 28 stitch pattern repeat.

When choosing yarn, it is important to choose contrasting colours so the pattern stands out. At least 2 colours are needed.
