A brick pattern emerges in a simple stranded colorwork hat in multiple colors of worsted weight yarn.

Construction details The Sixth Knit Colorwork Hat is worked in the round from the brim towards the crown.

Skills necessary

Sizes: Adult medium (adult large)

Finished measurements: 18.5 (20.5)”/47 (52) cm circumference and 9 (9)”/23 (23) cm depth.

Gauge: 20 sts and 26 rounds = 4”/10 cm in stranded colorwork using size needle to obtain gauge.

Needles: US 7/4.5 mm 16”/40 cm circular needles and DPN for body of hat or size needle needed to obtain gauge. Size US 6/4 mm 16”/40 cm circular for brim or one size smaller than size needed to obtain gauge. Adjust needle size as necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Yarn: 160 (180) total yards of worsted weight (CYCA #4) yarn in an assortment of colors.

Samples made with Yarn Snob “A Wondrous Worsted” (100% superwash merino wool, 218 yds /100 g) in the Festival of Lights set, 8 skeins of 54 yds/25 g each.
