This shawl is made with a simple, soothing texture pattern that flows into a simple border. The asymmetrical shape makes for a shawl that is easy to wear and to maximize the drape factor!
You can use either DK/Worsted or even fingering held doubled!
Designed with your stash in mind, you can grab 1, 2, 3, or 5 skeins of DK and just go and have fun! This gives you all kinds of sizes and yarn opportunities!
This also allows you to have fun supporting indie dyers and their art! You can grab a medley of colors and bases and just have fun!
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
Note: Size and dimensions may vary depending on materials used, blocking techniques, and preferences of the knitter.
• Size 1 (One Skein): 14.5 in/ 37 cm at the center point X 55 in/ 140 cm along the top edge.
• Size 2 (Two Skein): 20 in/ 51 cm at the center point X 70 in/ 178 cm along the top edge.
• Size 3 (Three Skein): 27 in/ 69 cm at the center point X 84 in/ 212 cm along the top edge.
• Size 4 (Five Skein): 35 in/ 89 cm at the center point X 100 in/ 255 cm along the top edge.
SUPPLY LIST:
Yarn: DK weight yarn or fingering held doubled. Please note that holding yarn double requires double the yardage.
Samples were knit out of 716Knit Pride (DK weight; 100% SW Merino; 270 yd/247 m ea.) and 716Knit Solo (Fingering; 100% SW Merino; 400 yd/ 365m ea)
Colors: You can use as many or as few colors as you’d like.
For each sample size, one color was used per 250 yd/ 228 m. For Size 4, there were 6 colors used to make the marled transitions throughout the piece.
Yardage:
• Size 1: 250 yd / 228 m.
• Size 2: 500 yd / 456 m.
• Size 3: 750 yd / 684 m.
• Size 4: 1250 yd / 1140 m.
Needles: One set of 32 inch/ 60-80 cm US size 9/ 5.5 mm circular needles.
Gauge: 4-4.5 stitches to the inch
Notions: Stitch Markers, tapestry needle, scissors
Techniques Used in this Pattern: Simple knit/purl stitches, YO increases, basic decreases, simple no wrap short rows, color blending.
