The story for Skandinavia beanie started already over a year ago. My plan was to design a really basic 1 x 1 ribbed beanie with a wide decrease “stripe”. And I found a perfect yarn and shade for this pattern in my own stash, can you believe!
First version is knitted using Cascade 220 in a colorway River Rock, a worsted weight 100% wool yarn. I really liked the outcome, but when I started to write the pattern, the beanie had already stretched from wearing a lot. So I made second one, which is knitted from Novita 7 Veljestä Nummi, a worsted weight tweed yarn. The third, orange fluffy sample is made from Laurelknits SuperSock DK together with Udu. This yarn combo is a dream and feels so soft!

Skandinavia beanie is knitted bottom up using worsted weight yarn. Cast-on is done by using Tubular Cast-On method, which adds a neat look to the beanie.
Whole beanie is knitted in a really simple and minimalistic 1 x 1 ribbing. Between decreases create a wide stripe.
After decreases rest of the stitches are finished by using Kitchener stitch method. Lastly the brim is folded once.

Skandinavia-pipon tarina alkoi jo yli vuosi sitten. Mulla oli tavoitteena suunnitella tosi perus 1 x 1 joustinneulepipo, missä on leveä nauhakavennus. Löysinkin pipoa varten täydellisen langan ja sävyn mun omasta lankavarastosta, voitteko kuvitella!
Ensimmäinen Skandinavia-pipo on neulottu Cascade 220 -langasta värissä River Rock, mikä on worsted-vahvuinen 100% villalanka. Tykkäsin tosi paljon lopputuloksesta, mutta kun aloitin kirjoittamaan ohjetta tälle, niin huomasin että pipo oli venynyt käytön takia jo aika paljon. Joten neuloin toisen verison Novitan 7 Veljestä Nummi -tweed langasta. Kolmas, oranssi pörröinen versio on neulottu Laurelknitsin SuperSock DK ja Udu -langoista. Tämä lankacombo on kyllä unelman pehmeää!

Skandinavia-pipo on neulottu alhaalta ylöspäin worsted-vahvuisesta langasta. Aloitusreunassa on käytetty Tubular Cast-On -tekniikkaa, joka tuo viimeistellyn lopputuloksen pipolle.
Koko pipo on neulottu 1 x 1 joustinneuleella. Kavennusten väliin muodostuu leveä nauhakavennus.
Kavennusten jälkeen loput silmukat päätellään silmukoimalla. Lopuksi pipon reunus taitetaan kertaalleen.
