Skating Outfit
Skating leotard and skirt to fit a teenage fashion doll like Barbie.
The pictures in the sources show slightly different neck lines and sleeve lengths, but the instructions are identical.
Yarn: 1/2 ounce main color; a few yards of Angora
Additional materials: steel crochet hook #1; two snap fasteners
The top and briefs are made in one piece and seamed. There is a placket in the back with a crocheted edging that closes with snaps. The Angora trim around the collar is picked up. The trim is folded in half to the inside to create a decorative edge.
The skirt is worked in one piece with a back seam. It slips on with no fastenings. The Angora trim is knitted on. It is folded in half to the inside to create a decorative edge.
Errata: in McCall’s Fashions Doll Clothes, the skirt cast on should be 36 stitches not 31. (This error does not appear in all copies of this source.)
Sized for a Barbie-type doll with the 1960s figure: 5.5”/3.125”/5”. The fit may vary on modern dolls.
