This set of mittens and cowl works up quickly, and is soft and warm in the recommended yarn. The pattern is easily memorized after a few rounds and the neutral colorway complements many outerwear colors.

The mittens have a gusseted thumb, and modified vee top for an excellent fit.

The cowl has a hem on both top and bottom.

This was a fun design to work out, and depending on how I viewed the chart, it either reminded me of some M.C. Escher prints, or like a vee of geese flying overhead!

SIZES: Mittens—1 size (adult medium) 8-inch circumference, 10-inch length
Cowl—1 size (adult medium) 25-inch circumference, 8-inch height

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Sizes for both mittens and cowl can easily be adjusted in length, and with slight variations in gauge, both larger and smaller sizes are easily achieved. Any changes to gauge or yarn weight, or adding length, may require extra yarn.

GAUGE: Mitten gauge is 30 sts and 32 rnds = 4 inches/10cm. Cowl gauge is 23 sts and 27 rnds = 4 inches/10cm.

NEEDLES: Choose needle types based on your preferred method of working small circumferences in the round. I used the magic-loop method and a 32-inch circular needle for the mittens and a 16-inch circular needle for the cowl. A set of double-pointed needles would work just as well for the mittens.

YARN: Listed amount will make both mittens and cowl
