There is something about the first chill of winter that makes me dream about hitting the slopes – or at least looking like I am ready to!

This hat, perfect for the skier, snowboarder or ski-bunny look alike in your life is full of options. Beanie style (or not), earflaps (or not), braids (or not) and for a man or woman are a few of the options you’ll have to choose from. What won’t you have to do? Waste loads of time knitting or finishing this project. It works up quickly in bulky yarn, making it the perfect last-minute gift for that man (or woman) in your life. Total time I spent? Six hours – three hats and a design, BAAM!

Ski-Bea is knit from the bottom up in the round. The garter stitch band and earflaps add thickness for warmth and structure while the Inverness Diamond pattern hints of argyle without going over the top (you don’t want to scare your manly man, do you?). The interlocking diamonds are maintained throughout the crown and create an unusual geometric shaping.
