Skinny Linny
Originally written to use five colors of Debbie Bliss Pure Silk (discontinued many years ago!), Skinny Linny has been updated to use fingering weight yarn in three colors. However, you can use as many colors as you like. This elegant scarf mimics woven fabrics by utilizing the easy to learn linen stitch.
Size is easily adjusted. Increase or decrease length by adding or subtracting stitches at cast on (make sure you cast on an odd number of stitches). Knit more rows to make it wider.
Gauge is not essential for this pattern. As long as the fabric is to your liking, you should be fine. (However, see the info above about adjusting for size as you may need to increase/decrease the number of stitches you cast on if you change your needle size.)
This pattern utilizes linen stitch, a slip stitch pattern where you are slipping every stitch that was knit or purled on the previous row and knitting or purling every stitch that was slipped on the previous row.
