This scarf is initially worked lengthwise, creating a central rib of Rings (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), and then worked in rounds. The central rib should be the desired length of finished scarf as later rounds do not add significant length. A striped scarf is achieved by changing the color on one or more rounds. Gauge is not important though minor adjustments to pattern may be needed with extremes in fibers or hook sizes to ease the turning radius at each end of the scarf.
