This would be a great pattern for a new knitter who knows how to knit and purl and is looking for a first lace pattern or a first triangle shawl pattern. It uses a feather and fan lace pattern so it looks interesting but isn’t hard. It is worked with DK weight yarn so it isn’t fussy and works up pretty fast - also a bonus for new knitters.

I made it with Mirasol Tupa, but any DK or worsted weight yarn would work! Variegated yarns would be great as well, or maybe one of the Noro yarns for nice color variation.

Update 3/14/21 - I have added instructions for knitting a medium sized shawl out of 500 yards of DK weight.
