Skydiver is a top down, crescent shaped shawl worked in garter stitch. It features a lace wing border and an optional crocheted edging. The hump at center back provides some extra neck coverage or it can be folded down to form a collar. This is a fast knit in garter stitch with just a little lace for fun. Use any weight of yarn you like with a needle size recommended by the yarn label. The blue and white shawl was made with a DK weight yarn and size 7 (4.5 mm) knitting needle and 400 yards of yarn measured 55” wide x 13.5” deep at center (unblocked) and 70” neckline x 21.5” deep (blocked). An Aran weight version knit with a size 8 (5 mm) knitting needle used 520 yards and measured 86” wide x 26” deep.
