A soft cardigan worked flat, top down, seamlessly with a beautiful and elegant smocking stitch on the yoke.
The three-dimensional smocking stitch can be emphasized with a “fluffy” fiber like mohair that can be used together with a merino or similar yarn.

When the yoke is done, some short rows are worked to give extra length to the back and give the cardigan a comfortable fit.
The body and the sleeves are then worked in stockinette stitch.
The sleeves are worked in the round.

In the pattern are provided links to the special techniques used.
