The Skye Tee is knitted from 2 strands of mohair yarn, making for an airy and cloud-like top perfect for spring and summer temperatures. This effortless design features a shallow neckline and voluminous short sleeves, all worked in stockinette stitch for a relaxing, easy knit - celebrating simplicity and softness.

CONSTRUCTION

The Skye Tee is worked in stockinette stitch, using simple cast-on and bind-off methods. It is worked top down in the round, with no seams. The shallow, wide neckline is made with short row shaping, 2 points of increases for the shoulders, and increases to create the drop shoulder sleeves. The sleeves are placed on hold while you work the body, then placed back onto needles and worked for a short time before decreasing and binding off.

SKILLS

This is a written pattern assuming foundational garment knitting knowledge and is not intended to be beginner friendly. Supplemental research or practice to learn new skills may be required to complete this project.

This pattern requires a working knowledge of: knitting & purling both flat & in the round, german short row shaping, increasing and decreasing.

Circular needles are used to work in the round, starting with 16” (40 cm) for the cast-on and switching to longer cable lengths as the yoke grows. The sleeves are made with the smallest cable length or preferred short circumference needles i.e DPNs or magic loop.

Cast-on, bind-off, and short row methods suggested in this pattern are able to be substituted with any other method.
