Skye is a red squirrel from the coniferous forests of Scotland. A bashful lass, she will hide away when you first approach her, but once you get to know each other, you’ll find she likes to play and be silly with you. She’ll even show you where to find the best nuts!

For this pattern you will need:

• 80g dark orange Aran yarn
• 5g cream or beige Aran yarn
• Small amount of dark brown yarn
• 4 mm crochet hook (UK 8 , US G/6) (green in pictures)
• 18 mm safety eyes
• Stuffing
• Scissors
• Darning needle (light blue in pictures)
• Comb (for the tail and ear fluff)
• Stiff bristled brush or wool carder (for the tail and ear fluff (optional)
• Any crochet hook smaller than 4 mm to weave in loose ends
• Stitch marker to keep track of the end of your most recent round (and to help you place the safety eyes)

Difficulty: One moderately complex stitch (loop stitch), smaller parts may be a bit fiddly to sew.
