Skye's Pilot Hat
This pup’s gotta fly! I’ve rarely seen my four year old more enthusiastic about my knitting, wanting me to finish it NOW. This hat has many interesting techniques to resemble the original, with cute, furry ears, blue goggle glasses and knit-on i-cord edges to create a three-dimensional effect. Perfect for all Paw Patrol loving kids!
First you knit the ears, bottom up and inside out. The hat is knit top down, and the ears are knit on as you go. You then knit on the dark pink goggle band around the hat, before the bottom garter edge with ear flaps. The hat is slightly longer in the back, providing a better fit. The earflaps continue into i-cords. The goggle glasses are sewn on with duplicate stitch. Pick up stitches around each goggle glass and knit on an icord edge. At last, the hat is lined with fleece.
