Skylark
Skylark is a set of a cowl and matching wrist warmers. Worked in the round in a pretty beaded lace pattern, the curves in the knitted fabric of the cowl are created by the lace pattern.
Materials
Yarn: lace weight yarn.
Cowl: 267 yds/245 m
Cuffs: 131 yds/120 m
Sample is shown in Dutch Knitting Design’s Tulp. (400 yds/365 m per 55gr) Colourway; Stud.
Needles: 1 US 5/3.75mm circular of length 24 in/60 cm.
1 US 2.5/3mm dpn or circular of length 40 in/100 cm if you use magic loop.
Hooks: 0.6mm for attaching beads onto the yarn
Stitch markers: 2 for mitts, 10 for cowl.
Beads: Miyuki size 8/0 Colour: 08-1020 Cowl: 190 Cuffs: 90
Gauge
For the cowl on US 5/3.75mm;
25 sts and 26 rnds = 4 in /10 cm in pattern stitch.
For the wrist warmers on US 2.5/3mm;
28 sts and 40 rnds = 4 in /10 cm in pattern stitch slightly stretched.
Sizes
Cowl:
Directions are given for 1 size:
31.5 in/80 cm around neck. 9.5 in/24 cm long.
Wrist warmers:
Directions are given for 4 sizes and will fit wrist circumference:
S: 6.25 in/16cm.
M: 7 in/18cm.
L: 7.75 in/20cm.
XL: 8.5 in/22cm.
Notes
- The cowl is easy to adjust in size, change your cast on number in increments of 20 sts. To add more length; keep repeating rnds 10-15 of chart A.
- For longer wrist warmers; keep repeating rnds 10-15 of chart B.
