Skyrift Snood
Skyrift Snood is a story of little mountain peaks, a breached sky and another world just visible through the lines opening up the heavens. It’s also a snood to keep your neck warm, but this pretty bit of fantasy comes in handy while you drink covert gin and tonics in a cold park with your support bubble. Wear a mask, knit loads and be merry!
Skyrift is knitted in the round using two contrasting coloured yarns. It’s quite a generous size but this can easily be tweaked with smaller needles or removing a pattern repeat.
It’s a quick fun knit, and although colourwork might strike fear into your heart, it’s doable and I’ve added in some tips and helpful links to better knitters than me who I learned from along the way.
Yarn and sizing:
I used 2 x 100g skeins of Aran weight Malabrigo Rios 100% Merino Wool - 192m (210yds) per skein but You will have more left over of Colour A than B but it’s great stuff to use up on other projects.
Gauge:
The gauge listed isn’t super strict but if you prefer a denser knit, tips are included.
As noted it’s a generous size - W 32cm x H 29cm but easily tweaked to make a smaller piece.
Colours used:
Colour A: Winter lake
Colour B: Magenta
Things you might need to know:
