Slalom Beanie

There’s nothing like an open ski run on a crisp winter morning and this beanie captures all the twists and turns down the mountain. In this colorwork hat, the slalom turns come to the fore, cutting their way through a forest of treetops. The crown of the hat features a beautiful spiraling effect. This Slalom Beanie knits up quickly and requires less than 130yds of each color—the samples are knit in Rosa Pomar Brusca, an affordable yarn from Portugal that’s available in the U.S. and abroad. The hat is perfect for an intermediate knitter who feels comfortable capturing a few floats and is comfortable reading a colorwork chart.
