The Slalom Twist Beanie is a fun, rhythmic knit that is perfect for binge-watching your favorite show! Named for its slalom-like cables and delicious twists, it is a cozy beanie with loads of texture and the option of single or folded brims (single only recommended for super bulky version). It doesn’t get more classic or traditional than this one-size-fits-most beanie with multiple weight options for all the seasons!

The hourglass cables are so fun to knit and combined with twisted cables, they provide the perfect blend of timeless and traditional style for the discerning maker. Instructions for four weights are included (worsted, light bulky, bulky and super bulky), as well as charts, tables and video tutorials. You’ll appreciate the super/bulky versions and the coziness they provide on cold, snowy days; the light bulky weight for those brisk, sunny days, and the lighter worsted weight for cool spring mornings. Four weights to cover you most of the year! That’s an investment-worthy pattern.

Intermediate-level pattern is written in US terms (English).
Pattern is for a one-size-fits-most unisex beanie with single or folded brim (except super bulky) that can be adjusted for fit by changing needle size.
Pattern is knit in the round from the bottom up with a 14 or 28-stitch repeat over 4 rounds and a decrease section that creates a lovely crown (no pom required!).

Directions are for:
Super bulky weight with size US13/15 (9/10 mm) needles, 68yd/62 m.
Bulky weight with size US 10.5/11 (6.5/8 mm) needles, single 80 yd/73 m, folded 101 yd/92 m.
Light bulky weight with US 10/10.5 (6/6.5 mm) needles. single 99 yd/91 m, folded 124 yd/113 m.
Worsted weight with US 6/7 (4 mm/4.5 mm) needles, single 140 yd/128 m, folded 174 yd/159 m.
Since all weights are not equal across brands, recommend choosing yarn by needle size on label matched to version above. Many brands will work; just be sure to confirm gauge with a test swatch before beginning.

Please note, there are no instructions included to make a faux fur pompom. This pattern is for the beanie only.
