“Slava” means celebration or gathering to rejoice. These mittens were designed as a form of resistance to the current socio-political oppression in the world. Slava is the opportunity to take a moment to rejoice!

Note: This gauge results in a fairly snug fit—if you would prefer more room, I suggest knitting these mittens at 2.25mm/US 1 (36sts & 40rows/4”)

Mitten Size
7.5”/19cm palm circumference (simply increase or decrease needle size for a different size of mitten)

Yarn
Two 50g skeins of contrasting sport weight, wool, non-superwash. Sample Mittens were knitted in Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Sport.
Color A: Pumpkin (50g)
Color B: White (50g)
Other: Less than 12 inches of a (preferably smooth) waste yarn

Techniques Used
Two stranded colorwork, knitting in the round (DPN or Magic Loop); increases & decreases (k2tog, ssk, MR, ML)
