There is a hat here for every age here—a set of these would make a great gift for a dear young family! This cozy cap design can also be completed with a pair of coordinating Sled Run Mittens. The busy, two-color pattern perfectly evokes the rambunctious fun of sledding on a bumpy hill. Knit in the round, the simple charted patterns are a great ice-breaker for newbie colorwork knitters.

The Sled Run hat pattern was originally part of the design collection for Knitspot’s 11th annual Red Scarf scholarship fundraiser supporting Foster Care to Success.

This pattern is knit in Bare Naked Wools Festivus 6.0 Worsted (Merino/Cashmere/Silk) in the limited-edition, custom colorways Rudolph and Abominable along with Kent DK in White Caps and Mussel Shell. The Sled Run Hat doesn’t include the Sled Run Mittens pattern.

Yarn requirements:
MC: 70 (85 110 130)
CC: 45 (60 75 90)

Please note this pattern has written instructions for the brim only; the hat body is charted. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size, drape, or yardage requirement.
