SLEEPING PUPPY CROCHET AMIGURUMI PATTERN
This 7-page, nicely formatted PDF tutorial includes pictures at each step to guide you through the process of making a cute little sleeping puppy for yourself or as a great present for any dog lover. In the tutorial you will also find useful tips on choosing the correct yarn and hooks for the project. The pattern is written in US terminology.
The toy can be made with yarn of any weight provided you crochet tightly enough. The heavier the yarn you take, the bigger your toy will be. The puppy in the picture measures about 15 cm without the tail.
DIFFICULTY LEVEL:
Beginner to Intermediate with some amigurumi practice
MATERIALS:
- about 50 g or even less of yarn in a colour suitable for a dog (or any colour you like!)
- lighter weight white yarn for the snout and tail tip. Lighter yarn will make the snout narrower. Alternatively, use a slightly smaller hook to crochet the snout.
- hook which is 1 or 2 sizes smaller than recommended for your main colour yarn; smaller hook for the snout (optional)
- thinner black yarn or embroidery thread for making the nose and eyes
- polyester filler
- wooden chopstick for pushing in the stuffing
- lots of sewing pins
- blunt tapestry needle or any thick long needle with a large eye
- row counter and stitch marker (optional)
- scissors
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- single crochet
- magic circle
- invisible increase
- invisible decrease
- neat colour change
The clarity and accuracy of the pattern has been tested by independent and experienced amigurumi makers. If you have any questions while making the toy, please contact me on Etsy, Facebook, Instagram or directly by email loskootki !at gmail.com. Happy crocheting!
