Materials needed: 400 yards of a fingering weight yarn in either a tonal or a solid color, US size 1 (2.25 mm) needles, stitch markers (recommended), and a cable needle (recommended).

Textured sock featuring a sloping diamond pattern on the front of the leg, a ring pattern on the back of the leg, and chain mail patterns on the sides; also has a princess sole and toe. Based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s antagonist and titular character of the Lord of the Rings trilogy: Sauron.

Pattern is mostly written with two charts to help with the side panel decreases and the top of the foot panel decreases.

Written to fit a US 7 women’s foot, but can easily be modified to fit other sizes by adding purl stitches between the four different panels on the sock, or by swapping yarn and/or needles.
