An easy, unisex, dreamcatcher-like mandala pattern that you can adorn with sleep helping crystals, such as Amethyst and Rose Quartz (amongst others).

If you need some help drifting off this could be just what you need. Just hang above the head end of your bed and let the crystals do their work.

You can also use the pretty mandala as a meditative aid, to help you relax at bedtime.

All 3 of my children are terrible sleepers! Getting them to sleep has always been a challenge. This was my motivation for this design and I’m pleased to say it’s helping them.

Cotton yarn is recommended to minimise stretch and keep shape once mounted on the hoop. DK weight and a 4mm (G) or 3.5mm (E) hook will work well but you can use thinner yarn and a smaller hook if preferred, you may need to do an extra round, or just mount on a smaller hoop.

It doesn’t use much yarn, even less if you don’t need to wrap your hoop. So it is great way to use up left over cotton.

Written in both US and UK terms and both PDFs are provided for your choice.

Skill Level: Advanced beginner and you’ll need basic Sewing Skills for attaching the crystal chip beads.

You’ll need a metal or wooden hoop in either 22cm (8.5”) for the small or 25cm (10”) for the medium.

If you want to add crystals you’ll need chip beads and some large hole round beads. Sizes and suggested suppliers are included in the pattern and on the blog post.
