This pattern is available only with the purchase of the Yule Lads Advent in 2024.

Sælgæti means “sweets” in Icelandic. Think of this sweet little pincushion as the perfect way to entice Pot Scraper away from those traces of yummy goodness found at the bottom of your pots!
Keeping this cute little pincushion out in the open will hopefully slow him down from scraping your pots.

This super simple pattern was inspired by biscornu – small, stuffed, octagonal pincushions that are made by sewing two squares of fabric together, often embellished with cross-stitched designs.

This pattern uses crocheted squares in place of pre-made fabric, which are offset before stitching them together and stuffed before closing up the seam.

A great tip is to add crushed walnut shells in between layers of batting before closing up your seam. Walnut shells can help keep your pins sharp.
