Math is FUN! I love math. I’ve always enjoyed geometry and playing with shapes. I decided to have a little fun and see what I could do with wedges. This is the result of my yarn play! (Note: Math skill is not needed to work this pattern. 3.14159 never even shows up!)

The Slice of Pi scarf is a series of joined semi-circular wedges. The wedges are made using short rows and are joined together as you knit. Each new wedge is attached to the bottom curve of the previous wedge. This gives you a directional change that is eye-catching and fun, especially when knit using self-striping yarn.

There is an optional beaded version to show the elegant side of the circle. Beads are added as you knit and dress up this simple scarf.

Loom: 3/8” small gauge loom was used for this project
Kiss Small Gauge adjustable loom with no washers was used to knit samples.

Pattern includes two photo tutorial to show how to join the wedges on your loom and how to add beads to your knitting.
