Slightly Sideways Beanie
Pattern Notes:
This beanie starts at the top, and increases are worked to form the crown of the hat. Front Post stitches are used to make a pattern across the fabric, so it’s important to count your stitches to make sure the rows line up correctly. Choosing a high-contrast, variegated yarn will help the front post stitches pop out and emphasize the pattern
Materials:
1 skein Fiona Kay Knits Squishy DK (100% superwash wool; 231 yards per 100 grams). The model colorway is Flourite.
A US F/3.75 mm crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge.
A darning needle for finishing, and a locking stitch marker to keep track of the first stitch of the round.
Gauge:
With US F/3.75 mm hook SC, 15 sts = 4 inches.
Size:
One size fits most adults.
Unstretched brim circumference = 20 inches, depth = 7.75 inches.
Note on sizing: due to the nature of the pattern, changing the stitch count will impact how the pattern looks. If you want to adjust the size of the hat, do so by adjusting the size of your hook to tighten or loosen the fabric.
