Slinky Slinky Sly Sweater
Slinky Slinky Sly is a slithery little knit that I was inspired to make when feeling a bit hisssssterical. It’s been a long year of days at home with my two lovely children and their germs (and germs and germs), and humour and laughter is a good way to keep putting one foot in front of the other. I have always loved snakes, and whimsical knitted art is a wonderful way to bring joy to the day. Repetitive colourwork is meditative and magical, and the emerging pattern is an excellent way to mark progress!
Slinky Slinky Sly is knit bottom-up in-the-round in fingering weight wool with steeks at the arms and neck. The arms are also knit bottom up in-the-round and then attached to the sweater at the shoulders. Snake tongues are added at the end through some very simple duplicate stitch for a fun punch of colour (and also to bring a sssssssmile to your face).
As always, check your gauge before starting and measure your person. As this is a charted pattern, stitch gauge AND row gauge are very important. This sweater is meant to fit with roughly 4 inches of positive ease.
