Slip Crazy Shawl
The Slip Crazy Shawl started with two objectives:
#1 Create an interesting knitted fabric using different yarns that might not regularly be used together. I wanted to play with using some of those fun, variegated or striped skeins of fingering weight yarn to create a textured and colored fabric that sparked creativity.
(In full disclosure, I was spring cleaning my crafting room, but instead I got inspired by the yarns I was going through and knit a shawl!)
#2 Create a fun shawl that looks way more difficult to knit than it actually is, allowing it to be knitted while chatting with friends over coffee, or at a knitting retreat.
To create the Slip Crazy Shawl I encourage you to go beyond your comfort zone and play with putting two different variegated or striped, fingering weight yarns together, you may surprise yourself. Add a skein of fingering weight yarn in solid, or a tonal color to create your color breaks- you may even want to use a set of mini skeins.
Get into the rhythm of the knit, slip, and purl stitches; you will be amazed at the fabric you create. Then join your friends for a fun time knitting and chatting.
