Slipknot
This soft, squishy cowl is worked in the round using the mosaic knitting technique to create a 2-colour pattern working with one colour at a time. The resulting fabric is thicker and cushier than regular stockinette fabric. The mosaic technique, the I-cord cast on and bind off, and the small amount of grafting used to finish the edges are all explained in the pattern. The chart looks slightly different from a traditional mosaic chart, and is designed to be easy to follow. This would be a good pattern for those wishing to learn mosaic knitting.
You will need a 4mm/US6 (or size to obtain gauge) 24”/60cm circular needle, a stitch marker, and a tapestry needle. Although exact gauge is not crucial, you’ll want to get it pretty close; using a different gauge will affect the size and yarn requirements.
The sample used 32g (96yds/88m) of Tatami (MC) and 22g (66yds/60m) of Redwood Bark (CC). You may need slightly more or less, but one 50g skein of each colour will be more than enough.
