Simple slipped stitches create a wonderful fabric which highlights heavily variegated yarns. This is a basic shawl pattern knit from end to end: nothing difficult, just cast on, knit and relax.

The Slipped Stitch Shawl can be made as big or as little as you like. Knit in pattern until you’re just about out of yarn then bind off OR attach another skein and keep knitting until you reach the desired size. You can also make the shawl larger by using a heavier weight yarn.

Sample shawl was knit using one skein.

Measurements after blocking (for a one skein shawl);

130 cm / 51” across top of shawl, 42 cm / 16.5” from top to end point. Shawl shape is an asymmetrical triangle.
