The combination of DK yarns, slip stitches and loads of texture make these socks so squishy and fun to wear. I loved the play of the bright coral Emily colourway with the deep and moody Steel Teal and the slip stitches and changing colours help the socks fly off the needles. They also knit up very quickly and will be perfect for gift knitting throughout the year. Join me in knitting all of the DK socks!!!

Don’t have DK sock yarn? Grab some fingering weight yarn and hold it double to make your socks. I made the large size with 92g of fingering MC and 28g of fingering CC. If this is your first time knitting DK socks, check your gauge and size your needles accordingly.

It is my favourite kind of sock with a little bit of interest but lots of plain knitting that shows off the yarn. Written and charted instructions are included.

The pattern looks great on lots of different types of yarn…Give it a try! Check out my tester’s project pages for inspiration.

The sock comes in 3 sizes and is knit from the top down with a heel flap and traditional gusset. I finished it with my version of a rounded toe.

I used less than 1 skein of Emily DK Sock and a leftover of Steel Teal DK Sock. If you are knitting the size large with a larger foot (eg. Men’s size 9 and larger), you may need a second skein of DK yarn or make the leg shorter. I had enough holding fingering weight double.

Huge thanks to my test knitters Leanne, Heather, Rochelle, Darlene, Sophie & Jenn for their feedback and their beautiful socks.
