Meet the next edition in my ongoing Love My Stash collection; hand knit pieces inspired by the yarn we have lovingly held onto, just waiting for that perfect design to come along…..This drop shoulder pullover sweater with a relaxed fit combines a DK weight yarn held together with a colorful strand of Lace weight yarn, to produce a lovely and interesting textured fabric that is so comfy and cozy! You could use a heavy Dk, light worsted, regular worsted weight yarn held single, OR you could opt for holding 2 or even 3 lighter yarn weights together to get gauge! This is a great piece to showcase some of that stash yarn that has been looking at you every time you cast on a new project!

A note on yardage: This sample was knit holding one strand of each of these yarns together. The combined weight of these two yarns is more like a worsted weight, so if you wanted to use a heavy DK or worsted weight yarn held Single you would only need the estimated yardage for one of the yarns, not both.

Materials
US Size 5 (3.75 mm) needles, minimum 30” cord for cuffs
US Size 6 (4.0 mm) needles minimum 16” cord for collar
US Size 7 (4.5 mm) needles, minimum 30” cord for hem of body
US Size 8 (5.0 mm) needles, minimum 30” cord for main body
Optional Double Pointed Needles in both US Size 5 & 8 for sleeves & cuffs (you can also use the same circular needles you used for the body and use magic loop method).
Stitch markers (1 for side marker and one unique for BOR).
Tapestry needle
Stitch holders, spare needles or waste yarn for shoulder stitches to be placed on hold.

Gauge
17 stitches x 27 rows = 4 x 4” / 10 x 10 cm in pattern for body with larger needles, with one strand of each yarn held together.

Notes
This sweater is knit in the round from the bottom up. Stitches are bound off at the underarms and from here the front and back are worked flat separately. Short rows are worked across the front and back to shape the shoulders, along with slight neck shaping for the front neck. The shoulders are seamed using three needle bind off, then stitches are picked up around the arm hole openings and the sleeves are worked in the round down to the cuff and are bound off using tubular bind off method. Stitches are picked up around the neck opening and the collar is worked in the round and bound off using tubular bind off method.
