This cosy slouch beanie hat is easy and quick to knit. It works very well in a soft worsted-Aran yarn which helps with the “slouch” effect. The pattern includes instructions for knitting the flat hat (finished with a seam) and also knitting in the round.

YARN
Any Worsted-Aran weight yarn that knits to the same gauge. I strongly advise you to knit a gauge swatch to ensure your hat achieves the correct size!

My sample was knit using Debbie Bliss Donegal Luxury Tweed Aran which is sadly discontinued.

Quantity: 160(160, 160, 180) metres approximately but the exact quantity may vary depending on how tall you knit the hat.

Suggested needles: Size 4.5mm (US7); 5mm (US8) single point needles to knit flat, or circular needle or DPNs in the same sizes to knit in the round. This hat has a very relaxed fit, including the rib edging. If you would prefer a tighter rib, consider going down a needle size.

Large sewing needle for seaming; weaving in loose ends
