Make a slouch hat for a baby or child featuring the child’s name and lively stripes.

Size: This pattern comes in 4 sizes. Measure the size of the head to determine which size you want to use.
Finished sizes are as follows:
• Size Baby – hat size is 17” (Fits a baby approximately up to a year)
• Size Toddler – hat size is 19” (Fits toddler)
• Child – hat size is 21” (Fits child and pre-teen)
• Teen – hat size is 22” (Fits teen and adult)
Measure the head of the person you are making the hat for.
Remember that knits stretch.
For older children, you can make the name a team name in the team colors.

Needle Size:
• For Baby or Toddler, a circular size 5, 15” length, (dpns size 5 if desired)
• For Child and Teen, a circular size 6, 15” length, (dpns size 6 if desired)

Gauge:
• For size 5 needles, 5 stiches = 1 inch, 13 rows = 2 inches
• For size 6 needles, 9 stitches = 2 inches, 12 rows = 2 inches
To make sure your hat is the right size, this follow the gauge above. If your knitting gauge is different, adjust the size of your needles so that you achieve this gauge.
