All three are crochet using an interesting textured same pattern, a pretty but easy pattern suitable for a beginner. The hat is knit in the round, so it is also a good pattern to practice this technique. The scarf is reversible, nice on both sides.
You can use almost any worsted weight yarn for the pattern.
