The Slouchy Cable Hat is a quick knit, using DK weight yarn (picture uses Peer Gynt Sandnes Garn). The top of the hat, including the trellis cable, is knitted flat at first. The crown is pulled tight from the side of the flat knit using a drawstring, and then stitches are picked up for the double-ribbed brim. The hat looks complex, but in fact, it is quite simply constructed.

Sizing can be accomplished easily by increasing or decreasing the length of the flat body and crown of the hat and then by picking up more or less stitches for the ribbed hem.
