This is a pattern for the Slouchy Ridged Beanie, a loose-fitting, toque style hat with a minimum width head band.

Any worsted weight yarn will do, but I highly recommend using the Caron Simply Soft yarn for this project as it gives a wonderful drape to the slouch effect. You will need less than one skein, but more than half a skein of yarn for this hat.

Because of the oversized slouchiness of this hat, no gauge is necessary.
