Easy and quick slouchy hat with its open stitch work is perfect for cool summer evenings. The ribbed band gives it extra stretch.

Although the instructions given are for a size large, by using smaller hooks and/or a smaller gauge yarn such as DK (size 3) you can make a smaller size hat.

FINISHED SIZE: 20” Circumference unstretched, will stretch to easily fit 21” head. About 11” long.

GAUGE: First 3 rounds = 4” Diameter.
Crochet stitches are given in US terms.

STASH BUSTER optional yarn substitution: In my second sample hat (also pictured) I used up small bits of left-over yarn from other projects. As you can see, I used 2 styles of Camo yarn and light green yarn. As you run out of one color and add a new color, crochet over top of the yarn tails as you work to keep from weaving in a bunch of tails at the end of the project. To do this with any colors, you will need about 3 ½ oz. total (about 165 yds) of worsted weight yarn.
