Small Bear In The Woods
Does a bear knit in the woods? Not in our reality. But you can easily knit the bear if you so fancy and are comfortable with basic knitting and embroidery techniques. This project is beginner-friendly and very quick, taking approximately two and a half hours to complete.
Nine separate pieces are knitted flat, seamed, and sewn together. The pattern provides some guidelines for knitting this project in the round, but one should be familiar with the basics of seam-free knitting technique.
No specific gauge is prescribed for this project, as it can be sized up or down easily, provided the knitting needle size is smaller than prescribed for the yarn being used so as to create a tight fabric and prevent stuffing from showing through.
Using size US 5/ 3.75mm needles yields a bear that stands 6.5” tall; a size US 4 set of needles will produce a 6” bear.
