This adorable little set consists of a cardigan and a bonnet.
It has a true vintage feel to it. Lovely to make, and so sweet for a tiny baby-girl or baby-boy:)

Design and construction
Both the cardigan and the bonnet are worked seamlessly.

The cardigan: is embellished with the lovely “small-buds”-pattern along the fronts, and center sleeve. The lower body is worked bottom-up and back-and-forth to underarms, The sleeves are worked bottom-up and in-the-round to underarms. The upper body is worked in one piece over body and sleeves. The sleeves are worked as set-in-sleeves; in fact they are knit-in all the way - and no seaming is required. Shoulders are bound off from WS using the 3-needle bind-off method. Neckline is worked from live and picked-up sts. Button-bands are worked from picked-up sts.

The bonnet: is worked flat starting from the ribbed brim, followed by the lace-pattern. After the patterning work is joined in-the-round for shaping the crown.

Cardigan: newborn / 3 mo / 6 mo / 9 - 12 mo
Bonnet: newborn - 3 mo / 6 mo / 9 - 12 mo

Materials
Yarn: I used the fingering weight Camarose Yaku 4/16. For the cardigan you need: 210/240/300/350 m (230/261/330/385 yards)
For the bonnet you need 60/80/100 m = (65/87/109 yards)
Needles: circular needles 3 mm/US2.5, dpns 3 mm/US2.5

Gauge: 26 sts and 36 - 38 rows/rounds in stockinette = 10 x 10 cm/4x 4”

The lace-pattern is charted, as well as written out row-by-row (and round-by-round for the sleeves).
There is a schematic for the cardigan.
All necessary stitch-counts are given. Measurements are in cm’s as well as in inches.
Knitting techniques: cast-on, working lace according to chart and/or written instructions, 3-needle bind-off, picking up sts.
